Solar PV

How to benefit from nature’s most powerful energy source

In a single hour the sun transmits more energy to the earth’s surface than the entire planet uses in a year.

It’s hardly surprising then with improvement in technology, lower installation costs and the governments feed in tariffs that Photovoltaic Cells (solar panels) are becoming ever more popular as a source of energy.

Solar PV uses the energy from the sun to produce electricity which you can then use in your home and/or export onto the grid. The Panels themselves convert light into electricity so they generate energy even on a cloudy day.

Why Choose Ashley & McDonough?

The effectiveness of Solar Energy often depends upon the panel technology itself and this is where we can help you.

We have years of experience, dealing with many of the leading manufacturers of solar energy products and we have carefully selected our partners based on quality.

All the solar energy products we provide are accredited by the MCS who are the accredited body for the Solar Photovoltaic industry, so you can be assured of being advised correctly.  You can also benefit from our bulk buying power, as a business who looks after 11,000 + properties, we drive a hard bargain with our suppliers, which allows our customers to benefit from trade pricing.

The Benefits of Solar Electricity

  • Reduce your Bills. Although there is an initial outlay…. sunlight if FREE so your on-going costs are reduced.
  • Get paid for the electricity you generate: the government’s Feed-In Tariffs pay you for the electricity you generate, even if you use it.
  • Sell electricity back to the grid: if your system is producing more electricity than you need, or when you can’t use it, you can sell the surplus back to the grid.
  • A PV system could save over a tonne of CO2 per year – that’s more than 30 tonnes over its lifetime.
  • If your system is eligible for the Feed-In Tariff scheme it could generate savings and income of nearly £1,200 per year – you will get paid for both the electricity you generate and use, and what you don’t use and export to the grid.   Find out what you could save today.

A Complete Solar PV Service

Right from the very start, we will support you throughout the process. It starts with a FREE of charge, no obligation survey in which one of our qualified surveyors visits you at home or your building. We would then provide you with a proposal detailing costs, payback and any potential revenue you would receive via the Feed In Tariff (FIT)

For any systems that we install Ashley & McDonough will also help support you through the process of registration for the Feed in Tariffs benefits, as well as helping you to deal with any planning consent that may be required from your local authority.

In fact we look after everything.

Once this process is cleared, the installation takes no more than 2 – 3 days. We will even notify your supplier of electricity to advise them of your connection to the national grid.
